My final intervention focuses on spreading the word of peace specifically attached to the conflict between Israel and Palestine. These two states have so much in common and so much culture spread between them that they are more family than an enemy. Being able to end this bloody conflict and replacing it with renewed friendship and peace will be a great accomplishment for humankind. We should all come together in this world to help one another instead of fighting one another. This project hits home for me because I am very interested in international relations specifically associating those relations to the topic of security and regional stability. The Israeli and Palestinian conflict hits close to home for me because I have close friends that have grown up in that region specifically in both Isreal and Palestine and I feel I can offer a unique perspective into the issues both sides share. By learning more about the conflict and researching it I believe that I can help shine a light on the issues at hand by not only speaking about it but also expressing the problem through art.
Ideas for a final intervention focused on three main projects, the creation of a public monument, an ad campaign about the conflict and how to assist in providing aid and lastly creating articles of clothing with the slogan “we will endure”. With proceeds going to ending the conflict between the two nation-states. At the end of my decision, I have decided to create a virtual rendering of a public monument in which I will present to a foundation supporting this cause in order to fund the project. While this monument exists only through a screen right now, it will live on within our minds and actions increasing steps towards avenues of peace.
When it came to projects that provoked my interests I found comfort in two many facilitators. The Seeds for Peace, Center for Coexistence in Juresuelm, and the Sulha Peace Project. Both these missions make it their goals to heal the open wounds of war by providing a mediated path to peace.
Artists that have inspired me from the class book "Interventionist" express this topic through art are the guerilla girls, Lucy Orta, and the art movement called “Keep America Colourful”. These three artists and their movements have inspired me to add my voice and opinions of peace into the ring because I want to help create a better world for our future generations to live in. Ending violence and sharing our cultural diversity amongst one another can and will be achievable, and I feel the best way to accomplish this goal is through art. The guerilla girls inspired me through their political movement by expressing their opinions on billboards and large public spaces one of their quotes that resonates with me is “ You’re seeing less than half the picture.” This expression comes from their ideas that people are self-centered and unaware that they aren't viewing the world openly and clearly. This message has made me want to pursue an art monument to allow the public to learn more about peace and how to influence peace into violent conflicts. Furthermore, artist Lucy Orta has influenced me through her art in the interventionist column. She expressed her art to help those affected by the gulf war and openly supports peaceful intervention in conflicts. The clothes she designed as a response to the Gulf War combine fashion with portable architecture. She designed Refuge Wear to highlight and assist those in need of refuge. This act alone correlates with my topic because it openly educates the public about wartime horror and reality, peace and diplomacy should always be the forefront option. Lastly, the movement Keep America Colourful has impacted my idea for the final intervention because it expresses and promotes the idea of cultural diversity and the power of difference. We must accept people of different backgrounds and welcome their mark on society. Through this ad campaign, the artists of the movement have clearly made strides within this country to promote open diversity in our lifetime.

1. "We had to use the most repugnant word we could think of to condemn them." ( Guerilla Girls)
This quote helps set the tone of how many people involved in this conflicting view of one another, it is a tough situation in which many strong emotions are involved. This is why my project is so important, we must mend broken wounds.
