Covid-19 has become more than a pandemic; it has become a lifestyle, the circumstances forced us to learn how to live with this virus and to bring out the good in every situation, and this is why I chose this topic. Covid-19 has taken so much from everybody and it has affected so many people in many different ways. Sadly, Covid was a big part of 2020 and it is still happening this year. These images are the reality disguised as memes; these memes represent what we have to go through every single day since the virus started, the agony and fear that we have to carry on day by day, it hasn't been easy. Despite everything, most of us have managed to find a way to keep going and prevent Covid from ruining many more lives. Every day is a challenge in this new world we live in, but we have to keep fighting for it to get better, we have to persevere till the end; till everything is over.
One of the quotes I chose from the reading was, "Photographs are as much an interpretation of the world as paintings and drawings are." Which I found as a very honest quote, because photographs capture the beauty of moments, they capture the reality of things. The other quote I found interesting was, "photographs furnish evidence, something we hear about, but doubt, seems proven when we're shown a photograph of it. Photographs are like a liability, we can use them as proof of some things that we can't explain but that we can show in picture. In moments like these, with the pandemic happening, photographs have become the best way to look back at our past, and reminisce of everything we had, that covid had taken from us; photographs are memories.
