3 Memes (Masai)

The topic I chose was the issue of police brutality, Black Lives Matter and ignorance as a whole. The first meme represents the kind of ignorant friends who think knowing people of a different race gives them an automatic pass in anything they say and do when that's completely further from the truth.

The second meme represents people choosing to believe in the phrase blue lives matter in addition to the accursed all lives matter phrase. This came up right around the time when people were protesting police violence against African Americans amidst the tragic death of George Floyd. Once again, and I hate that this has to keep being said but nobody's denying that every life matters, it's just that it's always been black people who've suffered the most at the hands of this nation since it's very beginning and we're tired of this corrupt system doing everything they can to keep us down and feel like we don't matter.

The third and final meme is a take on racist police officers that'll just pull you over for next to no reason and tragically we all know how that story ends. Officers are supposed to protect and serve, not abuse their power. The guns on their waists are meant to be a last resort but all they do is shoot first and ask questions never. Common excuse is "I was scared" or "I thought he had a gun, I didn't know it was a phone." How do you not know the difference between two completely different items? And if you're scared, then don't be a cop. If you're racist and you're just using this as a chance to spread your hateful agenda, don't be a cop. Keep all that to yourself.
