Intervention 3- Racism (2ND ATTEMPT)

For intervention three, I did not know what I was going to do it on, but George Floyd's story has impacted me tremendously.  I have always spoken about racism and it is something I strongly care about. Even though I am hispanic, we still get discriminated. So this weekend I went to Washington D.C and unfortunately a lot of things were closed because of the riot that happened friday afternoon. As I explored Washington, I saw this Black lives matter sign it was exactly what I wanted to talk about,  "Racism". It is unfortunate the way George Floyd died I remember that when I was watching the video I felt horrible! I wanted to talk about racism because even though it should be happening less, I feel like it happens all the time. People of color are always getting discriminated and it should not be that way. We are all different and that should not make other uncomfortable. I believe that we should all be equal it does not matter where we are from or what shade of color we have. We are all human beings and should be respected amongst one another. Unfortunately, that is just what I believe but not everyone has the same viewpoints as I do. On the other hand I chose to take a picture with this poster because I really loved how they had this poster visible for everyone to see because it is important to spread the word. It is unfortunate that things like what happened to Floyd happen through out the world due to racism, injustice etc. It is just awful to witness and see how this happens to people of color on a daily basis.

While walking on the streets of Washington I also witnessed a crowd of people that were protesting. It also has to do with injustice and racism. I must say it made me a little upset to see how little kids were also with the crowd of people. It was very upsetting to me to witness how afraid these little children looked. I just feel devastated to see how children of color through out the world need to experience racism at such an early age. In my opinion it is not fair because children do not choose to come to the world they are just brought here, seeing children suffer racism at such an early age is rough because they fear for their life. When I say fear for their life its because they see what is going in the world, they also see what their parents go through on a daily basis. I must say that racism is one of my biggest concerns because I fear for my future kids as well, even though I am hispanic like I previously stated and I am also a woman of color and my partner is as well. I hope that racism comes to an end because it is not fair for any injustice to happen to anyone in the world.
