For my final intervention, I have decided to create a website that highlights the recent and past Asian hate crimes and to spread awareness and inform people of why the recent Asian hate crimes have been rising over the past few months ago. I chose to do this project because of the Asian American hate crimes that has been happening around the United States. With the string of violent attacks, shootings, and targeting Asian Americans and immigrants, it has started to become more personal to me as a member of the Asian American community. In a way, creating this website is like a emotional outlet for me to talk about these problems. These problems make me fear that one day, me, any one of my family members, or anyone of my Asian American friends can be the next victims. That is why I would like to speak out against these problems by creating these website to not only talk about these problems, but also celebrating Asian culture as well and what they have bring over to the United States as well.  

    My message that I want my audience to take away from when viewing my website is that racism/hate crimes against Asian Americans is that I want to show that we have a voice and that people need to hear our outcry. Not only that, I want to show off the amazing cultures Asian American have to show off that is offered to not only show the beauty of it and educate/celebrate about, but to show that we are people too like anyone else, even if our skin or cultures are different.

    For my website, I want the layout to be all one page where the reader can just read it all in one go without having to click many different links. This is how it's going to be laid out:

                About this page: Where I talk about why this page was made and my own thoughts and conflicting emotions of the problem at hand.

                1. The History of AAPI Hate: Educating readers that this type of hate was always in America.

                2. Jumping Into the Future: Explaining why the recent spikes of AAPI hate crimes has been happening.

                 3. Celebrating the cultures: Showing off amazing and vast cultures Asians have to bring the conversation into a brighter mood.

                  4. What Asian has brought to the US: Showing off contributions that Asians and Asian Americans have brought to help shaped the US.

                    5. Closing Statements and What you can do to help: Putting down ways to help out the AAPI community during these times. 

      Personally, a few people that have influenced this project is Kimberly Drew with her blog because she had started to talk about the horrors of racism against African American and police brutality where she had show pictures of that stuff happening and spoke out against it. Also the Guerilla Girls as well where they also made a website and social media account to talk about the problems that they face in society as well. Another person that helped me influence this project was a person on instagram (_jonchan_) who had uploaded a full 10 minute length documentary about the rising AAPI hate going around the world, which is what I was trying to achieve.
