essay 2

in my final intervention, I would like to talk about the racism and discrimination against a different group of people or communities which are black people and Latinos, and the LGBTQ community. One socio-political issue that affects the black community is the criminal justice reform: The criminal justice reform truly addresses the social issues problems affecting black boys and men, there must be significant reform to the criminal justice system. black men are drastically overrepresented in the prison. A data showed that 32 percent of the prison population are black but only 6% of the overall U.S population. black men are five times more likely to be incarcerated during their lifetime than a white man and they are more likely to serve longer sentences. Another social-political issue that affects black people is the improvement of the education system: as compared to black women, white men, and women, black men have lower levels of educational attainment. only about 28 percent of black men have a bachelor's degree or higher, while about 30 percent of black women, over 40 percent of white men, and nearly 50 percent of white women do. black men have fewer opportunities to receive higher education because those with a felony record fave limited access to federal student loans. many of the service providers within the educational system do not cultivate the full potential of black male students. another socio-political issue that black people face is the improving employment rates and opportunities: black men experience high unemployment rates, low labor forcer participation rates, and lower earnings than their white male counterparts. these trends are not only indicative of lower economic power, but also lower access to quality healthcare, and fewer social connections. Placed-based policies: in 2017, 26 percent of black households lived in high-poverty neighborhoods as compared to just 5 percent of white households. mentorship programs: for black boys and men have been a vital part of strengthening connections within a community. Providing young black boys with access to a black make role model has the potential to benefits them across several areas, including academic performance, mental health, socio, and emotional well-being. while mentorship programs should be promoted through public policy, the scholars emphasized that the approach must be deliberate. reparation, the final policy area suggested during the panel discussion were reparations to be paid to American descendants of slavery. the racial gaps present in wealth, income, health status, and employment.  reparation can be used to correct this injustice and to reduce the disparities that remain pervasive in society. LGBTQ COMMUNITY, lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people face the family issues as their heterosexual counterparts, but that is only the beginning of that. the LGBT also encounters legal barriers to government recognition of their same-sex relationships to their own children policy use issues affection lesbian, gay bisexual and transgender families addresses partner recognition, parenting issues affecting children of LGBTQ families, health care, discrimination senior care, and elder rights, and equal access to social services. for my final intervention, i want to male something that connects these 2 communities and show the people that we don't need to make them suffer for our own problems.
