One of the quotes I chose is kind of like a question. It is stated above in the picture I chose, it asks them "How can you stand wearing those masks all day?" Pg.32
I chose this picture and quote because the response was "But we look beautiful, it's hard to complain" P.32. I chose this because when I was looking at the picture I asked myself the same question and when I ask someone ask it to them, I laughed because it was kind of a coincidence. Even though I knew that the picture was trying to make a statement but it still seemed uncomfortable to wear. I believe that they have made an impact and a difference because they also state it on the same page. They said, "we've made dealers, curators, critics, and collectors accountable and things have actually gotten better for women and artist of color.
I chose this picture and I also chose the quote the picture stated because it caught my eye automatically. The picture/quote says "Do women have to be naked to get into the Met. Museum?" P.61.
This picture/poster had this quote written all over it, the colors popped and the statement definitely calls peoples attention. This quote makes you think it through, because it states that "comparing the number of nude males to nude females in the artworks on display and the results were revealing" Even though they got asked to make this poster, then they got denied but that did not stop them and then they proceeded to post it themselves on NYC buses.
