Memories- Leonid Alfremov
Leonid Alfremov was a 64 years old American- Israeli painter. He was born on July 12, 1955 in Vitebsk, Belarus and he died on August 19, 2019 in Playa Del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Alfremov was mainly known to paint and work with a palette, a knife, and oils. He went to study and continue his education in Vitebskiy Gosudarstvennyy Universitet Imeni P.m Masherova from 1973-1978. Alfremov paintings were not painted to prove or send a message like other artists has; but he painted his paintings to help us see that there's beauty in everything but sometimes we don't stop and appreciate and enjoy the moments we encounter until it becomes a memory. The reason why I chose this artist, and this specific painting is because it really inspires me. It inspires me because his paintings are based off his personal memories and brings out many different moods and emotions. He states that he loves to express the beauty of this world through art and I truly believe that it is something beautiful. It is something beautiful because everywhere he went, he always captured the love and enjoyed every single moment there is and later transformed it into a painting that he can later look back at and recall how amazing those times were; but looking back at it, it can create different types of emotions like sadness and happiness. It mostly becomes a happy memory than a sad memory because he took the time to enjoy the beauty there is to live without wasting it on random things but enjoying the presence of where life has taken us.
Beauty in all places- Nashelly Molina
I chose this picture of myself because it inspires me and it's kind of similar to the painting above from Alfremov. This particular picture of me inspires me because it shows a time where I was extremely happy and energetic and a time where I was spending the entire day with my family. I was not only spending a great time and having the best day of my life, but I was also amazed and enjoyed every little thing from my surroundings. For example, the water was blue and cool, the grass was very green, the sky was blue with mix of white and grey clouds, the geeses were everywhere walking around, honking, swimming and eating. Overall, it was a beautiful windy day which wasn't too hot nor too cold; the temperature was like perfect that day. I cherish every moment and captured everything that I encountered that day and till this day it still lives in my memory.
The reason why this picture relates to the painting above from Alfremov and why the picture I chose of myself inspires me is because we both enjoyed the little things in life wherever we went. For Alfremov when he used to travel around, he will appreciate every moment and took a minute to realize that this world is full of so many beautiful things; later he will capture it and paint it. The picture of me has so many memories and looking back to it; it does bring so many emotions because it's something that I might or might not be able to relive that moment again. This day I enjoyed every aspect of life and how beautiful things are even in the smallest moments there's always something beautiful at the end. To summarize Alfremov's painting and my picture, both inspired me because when we go somewhere or to some places, we should always realize the beauty of our surroundings and the scenery of where we are and where life has taken us; because in a blink of an eye those precious moment can be far gone and there won't be a memory of that time. Just as important it is to appreciate those people we love before they departure; we should also appreciate the little things in life before they are gone too.
