Quotes from Susan Sontag's On Photography
“But print seems a less treacherous form of leaching out the world, of turning it into a mental object, than photographic images, which now provide most of the knowledge people have about the look of the past and the reach of the present.”
“Although there is a sense in which the camera does indeed capture reality, not just interpret it, photographs are as much an interpretation of the world as paintings and drawings are.”
Quotes from John Berger Ways of Seeing
“Publicity exerts an enormous influence and is a political phenomenon of great influence.”
“But a work of art also suggests a cultural authority, a form of dignity, even of wisdom, which is superior to any vulgar material interest…”

I choose the Black Lives Matter Street Painting photo because the quote from Susan Sontag's On Photography , to me, explores the way that photos can impact people. The photo will serve as a memorizing encounter for all. We havent scen many similar photos, but history sure does have its photos that serve the same purpose. Photos are valuable in life from the future and even our past. Each post, past or future, demonstrates the cycles of life from the works.
