"To collect photographs is to collect the world."
"There is an aggression implicit in every use of the camera."
"A work of art suggests a cultural authority a form of dignity..."
"Glamor can not exist with personal social envy being a common and widespread emotion"
"To collect photographs is to collect the world."
This iconic image of human beings' first footsteps on the moon is the very essence of the quote highlighted above. Not only is this a literal picture of the "world" but it also expresses deeper meanings beyond the surface. The many men and women who sacrificed their lives and gave up countless years of their personal lives to support this mission to achieve amazing things beyond borders for the exploration of the world is what I see captured in this image. This does not just represent the United States but it represents an achievement of the whole world. It is beautiful and seems simplistic but is soaked with history and words, may we all be lucky enough to capture the very existential meaning of life and its amazing wonders.
